Brass

Cameron is a freelance musician and educator based in Chicago, as well as Principal Trombone of the Ohio Light Opera Orchestra and Principal Tuba of the Fox Valley Orchestra.

He holds a Bachelors in Music Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and a Masters in Music Performance from DePaul University, where he studied with members of the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera Orchestra.

He has been teaching privately since 2018.

Drew graduated from North Central College with a degree in Music Education in 2019, and has been teaching ever since. He plays both viola and trumpet, bringing a unique duality to his teaching.

He specializes in working with adults who wish to pursue their music dream, whether they have never picked up an instrument before or are returning to their passion after years away.

Trumpeter, bandleader, educator, composer, Fred Cantu is one of the busiest trumpet players on the music scene today. Lead trumpet with the Buddy Rich Big band, Fred also performs as a regular member of Grammy nominated Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdes’ Ensemble performing major jazz festivals around the country.

He also tours worldwide with the Elvis Tribute Tour for Elvis Presley Enterprises. Fred’s trumpet playing can be heard and seen every Sunday on WGN’s TV show Singsation, which reaches over a million viewers each week.

Fred has been teaching lessons over 30 years and is comfortable teaching all brass instruments. Fred attended Roosevelt University where he studied trumpet performance and music education.

Harris earned a BA and MM in Horn Performance from North Central College and Northern Illinois, respectively. Harris is an active performer and is a regular member of the DuPage Symphony, the Fox Valley Orchestra, the Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra and was a founding member of the Molten Brass Quintet.

Harris’s goal as a teacher is to help students of all ages develop confidence in their instruments and enjoy making music. Outside of performing and teaching, Harris is a brass repair technician at PM Music Center.

Mike has been teaching private lessons since 1980.  He has a Bachelor's of Music Education from St. Francis and has credit towards a graduate degree from Illinois State University. 

Mike has performed with Joliet American Legion Band, Frankfort Brass Band, and Fortress Brass Quintet.
