John Springbrunn brings over three decades of music education experience to his private teaching studio, having retired after 32 years as a high school band and orchestra director. During his teaching career, he also led AP Music Theory, piano, and jazz band programs, helping students grow both technically and creatively.

He holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education and now serves as the president of the Illinois chapter of Phi Beta Mu, an international honor organization for outstanding band directors. A former member of the Fox Valley Concert Band, John is also the founder, arranger, and leader of the Chicago Tribute Anthology, a festival band that performs throughout the Midwest.

John works with students of all ages, blending expert instruction with a warm, encouraging approach. His lessons are grounded in decades of practical teaching and performing experience, tailored to help each student grow in confidence and musical expression.

He offers in-person and virtual lessons in the Chicagoland area, specializing in flute, clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet, and piano.
